About Us

The Conquest Theatre is a purpose-built venue in the heart of Bromyard, a market town in Herefordshire. We’re a registered charity founded in 1980, and we now have 153 seats in our recently refurbished auditorium, a coffee shop and bar, as well as offering venue and costume hire.

We aim to promote the arts, which is why we host a variety of events – anything from music and comedy to dance and ballet. We also hold workshops, youth theatres and exhibitions alongside our vibrant programme of events live on stage, event cinema and film.

We also want to be at the heart of the community, and it’s thanks to them that we thrive. Run solely by volunteers, the Conquest Theatre can be a great stepping stone for young people forging a career in the arts, or those who just want to give up a few hours each month to be involved in the local community.

We’re proud of our in-house drama group which puts on everything from West End favourites such as Chicago, My Fair Lady and Oliver to one-act plays in our more intimate foyer space – but our youth theatre is something we’re also passionate about. Those on stage are working alongside our costume department, with more than 1,000 outfits, a team of dedicated set-builders, technicians and front of house staff, there’s plenty of opportunities to get involved.
