From front of house to backstage, the Conquest Theatre is run entirely by volunteers and has done so since its opening. Starting off as a community project over 30 years ago, the Conquest Theatre has grown thanks to its dedicated team of volunteers.

There are opportunities to get involved in every aspect of the theatre from front of house, wardrobe, stage crew, set construction, sound and lighting and more. Vacancies:

Projectionists

A projectionist is responsible for showing films using BluRay or DVD and satellite broadcasts. We offer a range of different onscreen events from across the globe which you will help show as a projectionist! Our system is straightforward and easy to use and full training will be provided.

Wardrobe Assistants

Being a wardrobe assistant in the Conquest Theatre wardrobe requires good organisation and knowledge about clothing. Their main role is to find and fit costumes to actors in the run up to a show with the guidance of the director. They will also attend show nights to help dress the actors and to repair costumes if needed. The wardrobe assistant will also ensure the costumes are kept tidy and they are cleaned and returned to the correct places after a show has ended.
The Conquest Theatre wardrobe also offers costumes to be hired. A wardrobe assistant will help a hirer find and fit costumes they need.

Stewards

A steward is the first port of call for audience members who come to the theatre and are responsible with welcoming and provided information or help to anyone who may need it. A steward will help direct audience members to their seats, sit in the auditorium during the show and help in any incidents that may occur. They will also assist selling ice creams during the interval and be flexible to help other volunteers where needed. Full training for this role will be provided.

Coffee Bar Assistants

A coffee bar assistant is responsible for taking and fulfilling hot drink orders using the respective machines and for selling chocolate and sweets. This role requires good organisation skills and a friendly personality. Full training for this role will be provided.

Bar Assistants

A bar assistant is responsible for taking and fulfilling alcoholic drink orders at the bar with our till system. A bar assistant will also prepare interval drinks, refill the stock when necessary and file the money taken at the end of a shift. This role requires good organisation skills and a friendly personality. Full training for this role will be provided.
